The Torque Athletic Push Up Pipes are great tools that will provide a new challenge to the tried and true push up.
These pipes allow for developing grip strength and forearms while you strengthen the chest, back, shoulders and upper arms. Our fully knurled tubes are 12 inches in length allowing for more hand height variations.
Grasp the tubes as you would in a hammer curl, place them flat-side on the ground shoulder width apart. Slowly walk your legs back into a push up position, remember to look directly at the floor beneath you. Keeping your back straight, tense your abdominal and glute muscles (to help protect your lower back), lower yourself until your head is level with your hands. Once this position is reached (making sure tubes stay aligned with the ears) push up into the starting position. Repeat.
As you begin to master this tool try different variations of hand width positions along with distance to or from the body this will offer more emphasis to be put on a particular muscle region. Try not using equal hand heights for more body core work.
