A rep performed with low tension and poor mechanics will immediately cause the bar to swing. The more you swing, the harder it is to hold on. Obviously low tension and poor form are self-critiquing at this point. The single point system goes one step further to identify unilateral weakness. There is no fooling this one! If you have one side that is weaker than the other you must use even more tension to avoid spinning as well as swinging. Normally the Dual system will cut your normal reps in half while the Single Point system cuts yet another quarter off your max.
